Waxing FAQs

Does waxing hurt?

What should I wear to my waxing appointment?

Are there any side effects from waxing?

Honestly, yes it can be uncomfortable (especially your first time) but it does get easier with consistent, regular treatments  💛

It is only a short term discomfort compared to the longer term irritation from shaving 💛

Are there any side effects from waxing?

Temporary redness, sensitivity, and slight bumps are common but usually subside within a few hours 💛

I’m nervous about getting my wax, is that normal?

I always advise wearing loose fitting clothing or bringing some to change into after your appointment so you can let your skin breathe after your wax 💛

I’m nervous about getting my wax, is that normal?

 Completely normal 💛

A lot of clients feel nervous or self conscious before their first appointment, especially for intimate waxing.

You’re in a private, professional, no-judgement space, and I’ll talk you through everything so you always know what’s happening.

I see all body types, all hair types, and all stages of growth. There’s no judgement at all.

My job is to make you feel comfortable, confident, and looked after.

If there's anything I can do to ease your nerves before your waxing appointment just send me a message! 💛

Is there anything I should avoid before my wax?

Is there anything I should avoid before my wax?

 Try to avoid:

Alcohol (can make skin more sensitive)

Caffeine (can heighten sensitivity for some people)

Sunburn or irritated skin

Arriving well-rested and hydrated really helps 💛

Can I get a wax on my period?

I’m nervous about getting my wax, is that normal?

Is there anything I should avoid before my wax?

Yes! You definitely can have a wax when it's your time of the month.  You will need to wear a tampon if you are comfortable with that but I can also rearrange your appointment if you prefer💛

Skin sensitivity often increases during your menstrual cycle. This can make waxing more uncomfortable and the skin more prone to irritation.

Can I get a wax when I'm pregnant?

How long before my Special Occasion/Holiday/Date should I have my wax?

First of all CONGRATULATIONS! 💛

If you are in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, I unfortunately can not wax your intimate areas or your abdomen.  This is a vital and sensitive time in pregnancy and I would need to wait until you are past that 12 week mark.   Once you are past that 12 week mark get your appointment booked, we are good to go 💛

If you are waxing specifically for an occasion I always advise waxing 2-3 days in advance.  This gives your skin time to recover from your waxing treatment.

If you are a regular waxer try to keep this within your usual 4-6 week cycle.

Can I shave before my waxing appointment?

Please leave your body or intimate hair untouched for 4 weeks before you come for your wax. It can be hard to resist the temptation to reach for that razor sometimes but if you stick it out and leave that 4 weeks of growth it will be so worth it 💛

Although I advise 4 weeks of growth prior to your wax, I can work with 2 weeks growth at the very minimum 💛
